Who We Are?

Our HIstory

How it all started
Snowy was a big friendly dog who lived in our street when our founder Sunaina was 9 years old. The day she gave birth to six tiny pups under a broken-down car parked permanently next to her house, was the day ‘Saviors of the Strays’ came into being. This small non-profit organization was officially started much later by Sunaina with the help of her younger brother Aryan , their mother, and several selfless and hardworking volunteers. Pakistan has an increasing number of stray dogs and cats who are mostly killed inhumanely or left on the streets malnourished and diseased. Sheltering these helpless creatures, spending time with them, taking them to the vet and then finding loving homes for them has been our mission and goal since then. Over a period of past 6 years, we have helped countless animals get medical treatment, stay in safe foster homes, and find loving forever homes.

OUR MISSION

In the heart of our community, a remarkable team of passionate individuals has come together, bound by their shared love for animals. Despite their modest size, this extraordinary group, known as ‘Saviours of the Strays’ in Islamabad, is making a significant impact on the lives of street animals. Their mission goes beyond mere compassion – it is a tireless commitment to rescue, treat, and care for the sick, injured, and abused animals that roam our streets. Not content with just alleviating immediate suffering, the team is on a broader mission to educate the public, striving to put an end to animal cruelty through awareness programs.

Saviours of the Strays goes above and beyond by providing shelter and permanent homes for vulnerable animals, offering them a chance at a life filled with love and care. The team also actively collaborates with the community, working towards controlling the street animal population through humane methods such as neutering and releasing. In doing so, they aim to break the cycle of pain that these animals endure and reduce their overall suffering. This small but mighty team embodies the spirit of compassion, working tirelessly to create a world where every animal has a chance to live a life free from suffering.
